Open Theatre Project is seeking a SOUND ENGINEER for our upcoming production of EVERYONE IS DYING AND SO AM I by Michael John Ciszewski, directed by Sarah Gazdowicz and Tyler Prendergast. Running April 29 - May 9 at St. John's Church in Jamaica Plain.


ABOUT THE POSITION

This role is to engineer and advise on the existing sound design created by Michael John and the directing team into a production-ready soundtrack of cues along with informing the Production Team on the infrastructure needed to turn our performance space into part theatre performance part concert.


This role will need to be available for Production Meetings (in person or remotely on March 14th, April TBD and Designer Run on April 14th along with specific times to be coordinated by the Production Management and Tech Director during tech (April 23 - 28) for final implementation of the sound design as well as strike (May 10). You will NOT be asked to run any sound cues


STIPEND

$500  (subject to final scope of work defined)

Open Theatre Project is proud to present Everyone is Dying and So Am I, created and performed by Michael John Ciszewski, and directed by Sarah Gazdowicz and Tyler Prendergast, at St. John’s Church in Jamaica Plain, Boston from April 29 through May 9, 2020.


Join our hero Michael John as he transforms his story of loss, fear, and regret through an experience in the crowd of a concert headlined by celebrated pop diva The Priestess. Together, you'll dance through a collective creative process that looks fearlessly to the past in order to make a more fabulous future for us all. Turn up the volume and move through the agony and ecstasy of life, towards understanding the unifying truth that Everyone is Dying and So Am I!

Everyone is Dying and So Am I is the debut solo show by creator and performer Michael John Ciszewski. Following the development in Open Theatre Project’s Plays in Progress lab for new work—including readings, workshops, and previews throughout Spring/Summer 2019—Everyone is Dying received a premiere, sold-out workshop performance with Open Theatre Project in Boston in September 2019. Everyone is Dying then played two sold-out performances at New York City’s Theatre Row in October 2019, as an official selection of the 10th Annual United Solo Theatre Festival—spotlighting the best in international solo performance.
